Wang and Fridman met in 2005 at a sci-fi conference in Pasadena. They both worked at Enthot, a scientific computing company, where Wang was a consultant and Fridman was president. In 2012, they founded Continuum Analytics, a company that aimed to expand Python's capabilities to handle data at scale. Wang became the CTO and Fridman the CEO, but after a year Fridman left to start his own company, Quantopian, which focused on numerical computing. Wang and Fridman remain friends.
